MD, Director, Altos Cambridge Institute of Science
Dr. Wolf Reik earned his MD from the University of Hamburg and is a global pioneer in epigenetics and cellular reprogramming. He previously served as Head of the Epigenetics Programme and later Director of the Babraham Institute in Cambridge. Since March 2022, he has been the Founding Director of the Altos Labs Cambridge Institute of Science. Dr. Reik’s research explores the mechanisms of epigenetic reprogramming in development and ageing, advancing single-cell multi-omics technologies to decipher and direct cell fate decisions. His work is central to shaping the emerging field of cellular rejuvenation and its applications in disease reversal.
At the 4th edition of the Longevity Med Summit in London, Prof. Wolf Reik, MD, Director of the Altos Cambridge Institute of Science, will deliver a keynote presentation on Cellular Reprogramming and Disease Reversal. In his session, Prof. Reik will introduce Altos Labs’ mission to reverse disease by restoring cell health and resilience through cellular rejuvenation. He will highlight groundbreaking discoveries showing that transient reprogramming with Yamanaka factors can rejuvenate cells, tissues, and even entire organisms, offering a powerful foundation for next-generation longevity interventions. Building on this progress, Prof. Reik will share how current research at Altos focuses on uncovering safe, precise, and controllable pathways for epigenetic rejuvenation. This work aims to pave the way for a new class of therapeutics capable of resetting cellular function, reversing disease processes at their root, and ultimately extending human healthspan through targeted cellular restoration.
